Long Island, NY – Vishnick McGovern Milizio LLP, Attorneys at Law, Vishnick McGovern Milizio LLP will host an informative and interactive seminar for same-sex couples and LGBT individuals on July 14, 2011 at the Melville Marriot.  Attendees will learn how legalized same-sex marriage in NY affects life and estate planning; marital rights and obligations; tax implications; and which rights are still denied to married same-sex couples under the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA). “Gay Marriage in NY is new territory for same-sex couples on Long Island,” says Joseph Milizio, Managing Partner of Vishnick McGovern Milizio, “While some rights have been granted under the new law, there are many rights still denied under federal law.
