BERNARD F. McGOVERN, a Partner in the Trusts and Estates Practice Group at Vishnick McGovern Milizio, specializes in estate planning and estate administration, skillfully advising fiduciary and beneficiaries of their rights and obligations. Mr. McGovern provides advice in all aspects of probate and administration proceedings, contested probate and discovery proceedings, estate tax proceedings, and estate and trust accountings. In addition, Mr. McGovern is experienced in Guardianship proceedings, the rights of the elderly and real property law.

Mr. McGovern is a member of the New York State Bar Association, where he serves on the Trust and Estate Section, and is a member of the Queens County and Nassau County Bar Associations, and serves on their respective Surrogate Court Committees.

Mr. McGovern received his Juris Doctor from St. John's University School of Law (JD, Dean?s List) where he was the recipient of the American Jurisprudence Award . He received his B.A. from Marist College (cum laude). Mr. McGovern is admitted to practice law in the State of New York.

Charitable Affiliations
Mr. McGovern participates in the Queens Volunteer Lawyers Project, providing legal assistance for those in need, in the Queens County Bar Mentor Program, and in the St. John's University School of Law Externship Program. He has served as a member of the Advisory Board of Ticor Title Guarantee Company, and has served on the Development Committee of the American Cancer Society, Queens County Branch. He is a past President of the Blackstone Lawyers Club, and is a member of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick and the Knights of Columbus. Mr. McGovern served in the United States Army Reserve, retiring after twenty-one years of service with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
